Preserving Traditional Kazak Culture |
|
|
|
This lesson is based on an interview with Professor Azhigali
Eskendiruli, of the Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology,
Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In
this lesson, you will work with an excerpt of a text and watch a clip
in which he talks about one of the most challenging issues facing
Kazaks today: how should Kazaks preserve their traditional culture and
language while pursuing technological and economic progress in the era
of globalization? |

Before you begin:
Most students of Kazak will find this very challenging at first. Don't be alarmed! There are many levels of help available in the Listening Assistant (see illustration to the right). You can work through the lesson at your own pace. View and listen to multimedia clips as many times as you need to. If you still have problems, you can compare what you hear with a Kazak transcript and understand content though grammar explanations and keyword lists. |
