At the University of Wisconsin at Madison there is a long tradition of excellence in the "early modern" period, which extends from circa 1450 to 1800 CE. The Center for Early Modern Studies hopes to promote a comparative and interdisciplinary dialogue so as to better understand and appreciate this period and its significance worldwide.
